“Dur” opens the way for the “Saifi” program students to start their careers in the Hotel sector

In an effort to prepare Saudi youth for the labor market in a better way, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development and Human Resources Development Fund "Hadaf" are working with the private sector firms to provide training opportunities for students in the summer holiday period, through “Saifi” program that aims to give students above 17-years-old a chance to learn about the labor market and the acquisition of practical skills in order to facilitate their involvement in the labor market after graduation.

Given the importance of the role of youth in building the future, Dur Hospitality company and in collaboration with the " Saifi " program has provided 40 jobs for students enrolled in the program. Those students will work within its facilities during the school’s yearly holiday to familiarize them with the opportunities existing in the Hospitality sector, and rehabilitate them properly for the labor market and enable them to invest their free time in productive work, and to benefit them and their acquisition of skills and professional experiences.

Mr. Musaed Al Qasim, Chief Human Resource Officer at Dur Hospitality said: "We are proud of what is provided by the Human Resources Fund from training programs for students, and we strive to provide a permanent cooperation in the training of students from our belief in the importance of supporting the younger generations and achieve a positive and effective impact on development of the society".

Adding to that: "The trainees will be assigned specific tasks and duties to identify the basis of working in the hotel sector, to create a comprehensive picture of the work environment, and how to work in a great professional manner. Therefore, the trainees will receive a professional experience which will help them develop their tools and practical knowledge and full readiness for their future career in this area, hoping we could help them as much as possible to kick off their careers.”

Mr. Musaed Al Qasim concluded: "The youth are the core of the society and Saudi Youth involvement in the Hospitality sector is still one of the biggest challenges we face. This program is an excellent opportunity to introduce the Saudi Youth to the Hospitality sector, and it's available opportunities, at a time when this sector is considered to be one of the most important sectors of development in the Kingdom and enjoys the support of the Government .”
